A Poem of What Easter Means to Me

Image
I think the Primary song, A Child's Prayer, is a good sign to go along with this. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/childrens-songbook/a-childs-prayer?lang=eng I Still Love You By Jillene Smith God, I'm a sinner please turn me away.  No daughter, no. I want you to stay. But God, I have sinned; and many times too. Yes, Dear, I know. But I still love you. But God, You don't want me. Not with all I've done.  Yes, Dear, I do. That's why there's My Son. But I tried repenting, then I did it again.  And I still don't know if I ever will win.  I feel like I'm always just going in circles.  Oh God, is there hope? Can You send me a miracle?  Daughter, you've gone through such pain, I can see. My heart breaks for you. Your sorrow pains Me.   My daughter, dear daughter, let Me hold you tight. Cry out all your tears. It will soon be all right.  My daughter, I love you beyond your comprehension. That's why I sent Jesus as divine interv...

We Rejoice In Christ

Image
This song goes along well with what I read today.  I Believe in Christ/You Raise Me Up  by ELENYI and Cayson Renshaw ******************************* Jesus Christ, sketch by Del Parson (with my bro in law as a model! --not a published art piece) I love how verses I've read many times before often stand out to me in a new light and with new application.  Tonight, I was listening to a talk by Elder Neil L. Andersen, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, titled, "We Rejoice In Christ", where he quotes the words from 2 Nephi 25.  Nephi said:  23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do. 24 And, notwithstanding we believe in Christ...[we] look forward with steadfastness unto Christ, until the law shall be fulfilled.  25 For, for this end was the law given; wherefore the law hath become dead ...

Glory to God on High

Image
Come, Follow Me thoughts: Glory to God on High I think it beautiful and amazing how God takes small things and makes them great to accomplish His purposes. A few scriptures that come to mind: In the New Testament, during the ministry of christ, a small boy's few loaves and fish fed thousands. In the old testament, God used the strength of a small Shepherd boy, David to slay the giant and become a great king. Or in The Book of Mormon, Christ said, "and if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. Behold, I will show unto the gentiles their weakness, and I will show unto them that faith, hope and charity bringeth to me--the fountain of all righteousness." Studying this week in 1st corinthians, Paul reminded the people, ...

I Am A Child of God

Image
Who am I?" "Where did I come from?" "Why am I here?" "Where am I going?" I Am A Child of God  Ever since I held my first infant in my arms, I've always sung the children's primary song, "I Am A Child of God", as a lullaby to help them fall asleep. Tonight, as I was quietly rubbing the back of my first, (now over a decade later!) to help him fall asleep, I was still humming the same song that I've sung all these years. However, I've thought about the words of the song a bit differently lately. "I am a child of God, and He has sent me here. Has given me an earthly home with parents, kind and dear." Although those words are true for me personally; and as I wish they were for everybody; the fact is, they aren't. Even within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, not everybody is living in a happy, earthly home. Most people don't have two parents or families who treat them "kind and dear". Whe...

Faith

FAITH.   Faith is the topic today.  https://youtu.be/Rtx61civKJc  "Hearken, O ye people, and open your hearts and give ear from afar; and listen, you that call yourselves the people of the Lord, and hear the word of the Lord and his will concerning you."   "Verily, I say unto you, there are those among you who seek signs, and there have been such even from the beginning;  "But, behold, faith cometh not by signs, but signs follow those that believe.   "Yea, signs come by faith, not by the will of men, nor as they please, but by the will of God."   "Nevertheless, he that endureth in faith and doeth my will, the same shall overcome, and shall receive an inheritance upon the earth when the day of transfiguration shall come;" and   "...unto him that keepeth my commandments I will give the mysteries of my kingdom, and the same shall be in him a well of living water, springing up unto everlasting life." (See D&C 63; emphasis adde...
