A Poem of What Easter Means to Me
I think the Primary song, A Child's Prayer, is a good sign to go along with this. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/childrens-songbook/a-childs-prayer?lang=eng
I Still Love You
By Jillene Smith
God, I'm a sinner please turn me away.
No daughter, no. I want you to stay.
But God, I have sinned; and many times too.
Yes, Dear, I know. But I still love you.
But God, You don't want me. Not with all I've done.
Yes, Dear, I do. That's why there's My Son.
But I tried repenting, then I did it again.
And I still don't know if I ever will win.
I feel like I'm always just going in circles.
Oh God, is there hope? Can You send me a miracle?
Daughter, you've gone through such pain, I can see.
My heart breaks for you. Your sorrow pains Me.
My daughter, dear daughter, let Me hold you tight.
Cry out all your tears. It will soon be all right.
My daughter, I love you beyond your comprehension.
That's why I sent Jesus as divine intervention.
I knew that your journey upon this big Earth
would be full of challenge from the moment of birth.
I knew you would slip, trip and fall over again.
I never expected you to perfectly win.
But why must I go through all this, God? Why?
Isn't there any other way to get by?
My daughter, don't fret. Let Me explain.
Without any challenges there would be no gain.
You're here on this Earth to learn and to grow.
I knew it would be hard and I knew where you'd go.
But I also knew that your potential's Divine.
You came from Me, child. Yes, you are Mine.
I created the world and the galaxies too.
But all for one purpose; and that, dear, is you.
I love you and that's why I sent you My Son.
So when you fall short and feel your life come undone,
you can turn once again on your knees to pray.
To ask for Christ's Mercy to take sins away.
Your Savior, your Brother, He loves you too, dear.
He's paid the price so you don't need to fear.
Just hold His hand tight. He'll show you the way.
Christ gives you the light if you ever stray.
Repent. He will heal you again and again.
For, my dear, with Jesus, you always will win.
I never expected perfection from you.
I expect you to grow and to learn and to choose.
And of all the choices you ever will make,
I hope My advice here is something you'll take.
Don't ever forget that I love you, My dear.
Don't ever believe that I am not here.
Be kind to yourself when you have done wrong.
It never does good to dwell on it long.
And then let your eyes turn back to Christ's light.
Ask Him to lead you through the dark night.
And when you reach sunrise, still don't let go.
Follow His steps and He'll lead you back home.
Back home to Me, holding My arms open wide
to embrace you forever and take you inside.
Inside My home, dear, there's no darkness and sorrow.
Inside My castle is a brighter tomorrow.
So yes, dear, I know you have sinned; it is true.
But now you know, dear, that I still love you.

Jillene
