Oh Say What Is Truth

Oh Say What is Truth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtDU6FlkLok&t=64s "That you may come off conqueror" D&C 10:5 How can we come off conqueror? D&C 11:7 says "Seek not for riches but for wisdom; and, behold, the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto you, and then shall you be made rich. Behold, he that hath eternal life is rich." "Seek wisdom". What are we searching for in this world? The Lord commands us to "seek wisdom, cry repentance, trust in the Spirit...so simple really. Yet these action steps can bring peace, guidance, and greater understanding to us in our personal lives than anything in the world. (See D&C 11:7-14.) Google has resources, an overload of information, and even services that can at times be helpful to some degree or other. But God has ALL wisdom, ALL knowledge, and He knows you better than you know yourself. He will guide you as you seek. Study these chapters. Ask questions. Open your heart and you will learn from the greatest source: God. What does it mean, "my word...is...powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword, to the dividing asunder of both joints and marrow"? The Lord said these words multiple times in sections we've been studying. So what does it mean? "Joints and marrow" are our flesh and bones. I think of how our skin, muscles, tendons,--all the "flesh"-- and our bones are the physical things covering our physical hearts. Though we can't see it in physical form, I feel our "spiritual heart"--our spirit, our soul--are within our bodies. As our bodies are physical barriers to our physical heart, with this also comes a natural, physically/temporal-mind-centered barrier to our spirits. Often we may know very well what the "right" thing to do or say is, yet we feel such a strong physical-self urge in another direction. For example: hunger, lack of sleep, yearning, anger, cravings, emotions, pride, addictions, mental triggers, lack of patience to love and forgive and "turn the other cheek". Yet the words of Christ are more powerful and can cut through these physical barriers. They can pierce our souls with TRUTH. We may feel the truth pierce our hearts to repentance when needed, and pierce us with a burning in our hearts that testifies of the truth more powerfully than any words of reasoning from the most cunning mouths (or website) ever could. "Give heed" to His word STILL! No matter how many times you've heard it. It doesn't expire. It's more like a Stradivarius violin--its sound increases richness with age. God's word is true and can teach you all things. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten your mind, which shall fill your soul with joy; "And then shall you know, all things whatsoever you desire of me, which are pertaining to things of righteousness, in faith, believing in me that you shall receive. "And then, behold, according to your desires, yea, even according to your faith shall it be done unto you." (D&C 11: 13-14, 17).
