Doctrine & Covenants 14:4 says, "whosoever will thrust in his sickle and reap, the same is called of God". Verse seven, "If you keep my commandments and endure to the end you shall have eternal life, which gift is the greatest of all the gifts of God". Verse nine: "I am Jesus Christ...who created the heavens and the earth, a light which cannot be hid in darkness." Wow! I don't know how to create heavens and an earth. I barely know how to create a decent casserole! If He knows how to do that, I can guarantee He knows how to help us share His light with others. Have you ever accomplished a big task? Or achieved a big goal that took a lot of time, effort, and dedication? Didn't it feel fulfilling? Wasn't that an amazing feeling? Didn't all that work you put in feel so worthwhile? Now, I just imagine: Within my lifetime, if I helped even one person to truly understand the love of God for him or her, and to believe in Jesus Christ and truly desire to follow Him, how amazing would that feel? I imagine so much joy in the next life, (and here too!), as we embrace together in Heaven and feel so much joy being with God and Christ; and feeling such great gratitude and love with our Savior, Jesus Christ! Wouldn't the work it took to reach that be so rewarding? For everyone! What are ways you can help someone follow Jesus Christ? Being a friend? Praying for someone? Acts of service? Pray and write it down. Then DO! "The field is white already to harvest." The time is now! I know that if we truly open our hearts with a willingness to let Him lead us, the Lord will truly guide us to find those who we can serve. Love and prayers, Jillene Smith
