I'm Trying to be Like Jesus

Like this song of a little child portrays, we can open our hearts to hear Jesus and learn to be like Him. To become ONE with Christ. 3 Nephi 9:15-22 says, "Behold, I am Jesus Christ the son of God. I created the heavens and the Earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the father from the beginning. I am in the father and the father in me; and in me hath the father glorified his name. " Therefore, whosoever repented and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the kingdom of God. Behold, for such I have laid down my life, and I've taken it up again; therefore, repent and come unto me all ye ends of the earth and be saved." The word "one", as Russel T. Osguthorpe illustrated in a BYU Women's Conference, "embodies some of the most important truths of the restoration." " consider the following phrases: one heart, one mind, one Spirit, One Soul, one body, One Faith, one baptism, one fold, one Shepherd, one God."(1) The word "atonement"=at-one-ment. Christ's entire life, sacrifice in the Garden and his death are all with the focus, the aim to help us become at-one.(see John 17:21_22) "The Lord knew from before the world was that making and keeping Eternal covenants was the only Pathway to becoming one." These chapters in 3rd Nephi of Christ Coming to America (see 3Nephi 11-22) teach us so much of how to be one with Christ and through Christ. I think we should study these chapters, renew our covenants with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ prepare to enter, or re-enter, the temple where we make sacred promises with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and keep them throughout our lives. Wherever you are in life's journey, come unto him. Christ's arms are always open. As president Monson has said, " "Heavenly Father loves you-- each of you. That love never changes." Study Christ's teachings. Become one with him through the power of His "at-one-ment". Christ lives. Christ loves you. I know this is true. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Jillene Smith
