I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go
I'll go where you Want me to Go, sung by the Tabernacle Choir
Jared and his brother were in a unique situation, unlike anything the world had ever experienced. The languages of all the people were suddenly changed, their city was being destroyed, and people were scattering all over. I feel like Jared saw this with optimism and hope when he asked his brother to, "Cry unto the Lord". He told his brother to ask the Lord not to confound their language, nor their friends' and families' language. "And inquire of the Lord whether he will drive us out of the land... And who knoweth... But the Lord will carry us forth into a land which is choice above all other lands."
With this faith and optimism, the brother of Jared prayed for guidance and, as we read in Ether 1-6, his faith led him to receive great revelation from God. He led his family to a new land, he received instruction to build unique bar just across the waters. His faith grew and became so strong that "the veil was taken from off the eyes of the brother of Jared, and he saw the finger of the Lord", and more!
"For [the Lord] had said unto him in times before, that if you would believe in him that he could show unto him all things-- it should be shown on to him. Therefore the Lord could not withhold anything from him oh, for he knew the Lord could show him all things."
Like the brother of Jared, we live in a unique time. I know that if we follow Jared's example, being optimistic and hopeful; and the brother of Jared's example of faith, we will receive revelation and guidance even as he did.
Ether 4:7 says, "And in that day that they shall exercise faith in me, saith the Lord, even as the brother of Jared did, that they may become sanctified in me, then will I manifest unto them the things which the brother of Jared saw, even to the unfolding unto them all my revelations, saith Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of the heavens and of the Earth, and all things that in them are".
I know this is true. I have experience, and do experience revelation and miracles as often as I seek them and as I work to prepare myself and be in the state to receive them. I know God lives and His work continues today. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
