I Believe in Christ

In my studies this week, these verses--actually all of Alma chapter 13!-- but these few verses especially stood out to me. "[T]he time cometh, we know not how soon. Would to God that it might be in my day; but let it be sooner or later, in it I will rejoice.... "And now, my brethren, I wish from the inmost part of my heart... "But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering; " Having faith on the Lord; having a hope that ye shall receive eternal life; having the love of God always in your hearts, that ye may be lifted up at the last day and enter into his rest." Alma 13:25–29 https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?id=p25-p29&lang=eng#p25 To me they give joyful encouragement of the kind of help we can find from the Lord with all that we might be going through in our lives; whether that be political, health issues, or just all the variety of obstacles we face! Christ is there for us. Let Him be your strength! Let him carry your burdens! He did not suffer and die for us, for us to just shrug it off casually and say, " don't worry about it. I'll take care of myself." Have faith! Have hope! Let the love of God have place in your hearts. He knows you and loves you and is always there for you. I believe in Christ. With Love, Jillene Smith
